Biography

Personality:
Aidan is shy, awkward, polite, and a little clueless at times. If you are flirting with him he likely wont get it unless you're very obvious or straight forward. Aidan is genuine in what he says and will avoid negative confrontations. He is always eager to make new acquaintances and will likely try to help anyone in need.
Aidan is very adept in navigating the shroud and wilderness, and can move without making a sound and often sneaks up on people unintentionally. However he has a bad sense of where he is in enclosed spaces and finds that most cities give him sensory overload and disorient him. He also will sometimes get his tail, horns, and/or spikes caught in things like curtains or low hanging fixtures.

Aidan lives in the Black Shroud close to, but not in, the Lavender Beds. He is often employed by the Twin Adders as an emissary and guide in the shroud for other city states officials.
Aidan trained as a lancer then was transferred to train as a dragoon, as he is excellent at orbital jumps. His fighting style is fast and quick, he isn't showy and will attempt to end any confrontation as quickly as possible.

Activity:
In his free time he enjoys gardening and hiking through the woods to find herbs and hunt game. He travels often for his work and can be found in any city state or region on the source.
He is well known for wearing subligar and very little clothing--he has good reasons for it (sudden transformations can hurt him if he's buckled in armor), but it’s still a half naked giant dude running around.
He does wearing clothing if he is not expecting a fight or getting injured. So in casual settings he is dressed appropriately, but if he is doing patrols or work that may involve fighting beasts he wears his usual blue dragoon set.

Biology / Physiology

He is not what you think you see. His aether and physical form are permanently corrupted by Nidhogg's blood, from both his own parents' experiments and the blood poisoning he went through. Aidan's body can never return to normal. His skin is not skin--it is in fact very fine scales. To the touch it will feel smooth, but dirt, dust, and liquid rolls off him more easily.
His hide is tough enough to withstand a blade--probably why he's still safe despite wearing only subligar. Stabbing him might result in nothing more than a chipped blade. Larger weapons do have effect, he's not impervious.
He physically cannot fit his tail inside himself, that's the only reason it's out and so huge. It's part of his spine and trying to contain it hurts and is nearly impossible. Same goes for any other visible scales and spikes; Aidan is trying to fit an entire dragon into an elezen body, and failing.
He's stronger than average, and easily breaks things just by applying too much pressure by accident. It's why he's very conscious of himself around others. His arms and shoulders are buff from flying (he is a wyvern thus his arms become wings). His legs are thick and strong from dragoon training and jumping.
If he gets hurt badly he will lose focus and revert to a dragon. He cannot always control this, which is why his armor is designed to snap off. Sometimes this happens when he doesn't what it to, however. :)

The Beginning:
Aidan was born in an unknown location in the Black Shroud. His parents were were two elezen hiding from Ishgard law for experimenting with dragons blood in an attempt to find a cure. Because they experimented on each other and then unintentionally had a child, their cure runs through Aidan’s veins. His father died early on from being gouged and dying to infection, and his mother died a year later to pneumonia, leaving Aidan alone around the age of six.

Early Life:
Shortly after losing his mother, Aidan was found by a lalafellan merchant, Wynlon, who took him back to a lalafel hamlet. He originally was only to stay with Wynlon and his wife Yinette until they found Aidan’s relatives, but after no luck, they adopted him themselves. Soon after Wynlon and Yinette had three daughters, Binette, Wynette, and Faylon, whom Aidan loves and adores.
Gradually as Aidan got older and significantly larger Wynlon helped him integrate into Gridania and the Adders. Aidan still sends part of his paycheck home and visits his family. While his transformation was a shock they still love and care about him.

**Dragon Arc: **
(takes place before the dragon song War ended)
Now having a home in Gridania and money, Aidan decides to start searching for more information about his birth parents and who they were.
He had no idea about the experimentation or how they were essentially considered criminals. When he was transferred over for dragoon training in Coerthas he started asking around until a representative of the church reached out to Aidan. They instead lured him into a trap and slipped him dragon's blood in order to prove his parents' crimes and alleged betrayal.
However, since the antidote still runs through him, the effect was partial and instead permanently disfigured Aidan. He can transform at will or under stressful circumstances, but will never claim what he is for fear of being attacked or hurt again. He will claim his sudden appearance change was from an alchemy experiment gone wrong, or to strangers he claims to be an Au Ra. It's very obvious that neither of these things are true, and any actual Au Ra will know he’s lying.
His family doesn’t mind and still loves him, and his little sisters think it's cool. None of his clothes fit very well anymore and he often will burst out of them on accident.

• He is a sweet dumbass and will not know you’re flirting with him 80% of the time. • He always has sweet cakes and tea for guests at his home. • He’s primarily vegetarian, but as a dragon he is an obligate carnivore much to his dislike • He had never seen a miqo'te before until his first visit to Gridania at the age of 16 and the first thing he did was pull a tail and got slapped. He’s never gotten over the fascination since. • He is not used to having horns and a tail--he will hit things, and he WILL get stuck. • He cannot fit well in his adoptive family’s home, but still will try. They make room for him.
